Information
ASPIRA of Pennsylvania was founded in 1969 by a group of concerned leaders who believed that the most effective way to combat the socio-economic ills that afflict the Puerto Rican community is to educate our youth.

Mission
To empower the Puerto Rican and Latino community through advocacy and the education and leadership development of its youth.

The ASPIRA Association promotes the empowerment of the Puerto Rican and Latino community by developing and nurturing leadership, intellectual and cultural potential of its youth so that they may contribute their skills and dedication to the fullest development of the Puerto Rican and Latino community everywhere.

Goals
Comprehensive leadership development programs that will encourage Puerto Rican and other Latino youth and parents to become aware of the needs of the Puerto Rican and other minority communities, fostering commitment to dedicate their leadership skills towards the socio-economic, cultural and developmental needs of our communities. Comprehensive educational programs to motivate orient and assist youth toward their educational and intellectual development.

Programs of advocacy to affect increased access to quality leadership and educational development opportunities for our youth and parents.

These goals get accomplished through the ASPIRA Process, which entails:
